Chery’s 2025 Global Flex: 2.8 Million Sold, 1.34 Million Exported, Zero Chill

Let’s not whisper this one — Chery Group just dropped a global flex.
In 2025, the brand powered its way to 2.8 million vehicles sold, with 1.34 million exports waving goodbye at ports worldwide. Translation? Chery lapped the competition and kept its crown as China’s top passenger vehicle exporter for the 23rd straight year. Consistency is the real luxury.

The numbers hit hard. 2,806,393 vehicles sold, up 7.8% year-on-year, capped off by a December sprint of 244,928 units. Exports alone surged 17.4% annually, with December smashing records at 144,430 vehicles — the first time China’s auto industry cracked 140k exports in a single month. Historic? That word’s doing overtime.

Now let’s talk energy — literally. New Energy Vehicles went full beast mode, jumping 54.9% to 903,847 units. Hybrids like the Tiggo 7 CSH and Tiggo 8 CSH led the charge, proving Chery’s “fuel-electric synergy” isn’t just marketing poetry — it’s a working system. Even petrol models are getting EV-level brains, thanks to smarter tech and cleaner engineering.

Zoom into Mzansi and the picture gets even sweeter. Chery South Africa clocked its strongest year yet, capped by a record-breaking November with 2,506 units sold. SUVs, hybrids, and the range-topping Tiggo 9 are doing the heavy lifting — and customers are clearly buying into the glow-up.

“As Chery reaches new milestones globally, South Africa continues to play a key role,” said Tony Liu, pointing to growing demand and SA Car of the Year semi-finalist nods as proof the brand is levelling up fast.

And Chery isn’t stopping at cars. From AI breakthroughs and a soon-to-drop AI Night, to robotaxis, green energy, and even humanoid robots (yes, really), the brand is building second and third growth curves like a tech startup on turbo mode.

Bottom line? 2025 wasn’t just a good year for Chery — it was a statement. Global, electric, intelligent, and confidently ahead of the curve. Keep your mirrors checked — Chery’s coming up fast.
